Reaching new heights for Back Up
The Push - Snowdon, here we come.
Meet Clair, she is one of my best friends, a fab mum, a hilarious dinner and drinking buddy, an excellent travel partner and an accomplished psychologist. Due to a car accident 25 years ago, Clair uses a wheelchair and she has mastered the 'how to live your best life' with spinal cord injury (think camping, sea swimming, cycling, sailing, skiing, mountain climbing - to name a few) with the support of Back Up, the charity who dedicate all their resources to helping people and their families to rebuild their lives after a devastating spinal cord injury.
Five years ago a group of us took on The Push challenge Back Up organised and pushed Clair all the way up Ben Nevis. To say it was challenging, is an understatement. Gale force winds, heavy rain, extreme terrain made this experience one of the most challenging I have ever done. So we thought, why not do it again. :-)
On 29th June we will get together again and push Clair up Yr Wyddfa (formerly known as Snowdon), this time we decided to make it a bit harder and take all of our kids in tow. Lol. We will go up and down, covering approximately 8 miles of steep, mixed surfaced terrain, pushing/pulling Clair in her adapted wheelchair.
We kindly ask you to support our quest and to donate to Back Up so they can keep doing their amazing job for years to come. All proceeds will go to this incredible charity. And please wish us luck and good weather!
