"The Push" for Back Up
Reaching new heights for Back Up
Climbing Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) for Back Up!
I'm taking on the Push for Back Up!
On 29 June 2024 a team from Deka Chambers and Slater & Gordon are joining forces with Mark Holland (@disableddadof3) to race with him to the top of Yr Wyddfa and down again.
The challenge: Mark suffered a spinal injury in a mountain biking accident in Morzine in July 2023 and he will be taking on the challenge from his (in his words) "Mad Max style" adapted wheelchair. Together we will push, pull, drag and lift Mark in the hope that our time will beat the other teams. In Mark's words, "we're in it to win it!".
A dad of three Mark was living life to the full when his accident changed everything. From taking up wheelchair rugby to racing up Yr Wyddfa Mark is still determined to live life to the full and Back Up is all about helping people learn how to adapt their lives to do that.

Through my work I see first hand the life changing difference organisations like Back Up provide to people learning to live with spinal cord injury.
Normally my preferred way up a mountain is via a ski lift, otherwise you are more likely to find me at the bottom clutching a drink. But I am excited to test myself alongside my colleagues to raise funds for a brilliant charity. We will work together to climb / push / pull to reach the top together.
Any donation made to Back Up will be put to brilliant use to help people paralysed by spinal cord injury to get the most out of life.
