Hi my name is Ted. This will be my third year of climbing this mountain with Back Up. My team are all a year older and wiser, so we are hoping to go better than previous attempts and be first up and down.

Ted's story;

Ted is a young boy who never ceases to amaze his family.

Soon after his 3rd Birthday Ted was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer which created a tumor which grew close to his spinal cord causing a devastating compression injury. As a family we first supported Ted through his chemotherapy over the course of 9 months at Birmingham children's hospital. On completion of treatment, just before Christmas of 2018, Ted was able to start rebuilding his young life.

He has tried may sports including wheelchair basketball, sit-ski, wheelchair racing and is now becoming a very good swimmer. Most recently his new favourite is bodybuilding and weight training!

Through Backup, ourselves and Ted have made many new friends and we have been lucky enough to have been invited to an annual outdoor bound course in the Lake District.
